Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

University students and young adults who meet the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program eligibility requirements, including English proficiency and prior experience working with children, can apply.
Camp Counselor placements generally run for the length of the camp's summer season, typically 9-16 weeks, with additional authorized travel time before or after.
Prior experience working with children (such as camp, coaching, tutoring, or childcare) is required and strengthens your application, though it does not need to be at a summer camp specifically.
Once placed with a camp, UniWorld issues your DS-2019 form so you can schedule your J-1 visa interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate. Our team guides you through every step.
